Stella Elois Wheeler Mallicoat, 95, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 9, 1915 in Malaga, Ky., the daughter of the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Little) Salley.
Stella was a member of the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church and the Highland County Senior Citizens.
Stella is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Charles Moberly of Hillsboro, Marlene and Royce Scott of Summertown, S.C., Lois and Frank Johnson of Hudson, Fla., Shirleen and Ed Philpot of Suwanee, Ga., and Michelle and Edward Snyder of Coatesville, Pa.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Winston and Pam Wheeler of Newton, N.C., Jerry and Pam Wheeler of Florence, Ky., and Garry Lee Wheeler of Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Avery E. Wheeler; second husband, Rudolph Mallicoat; two sons, Ray Earl Wheeler and Avery E. Wheeler; one grandson; six brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church, 6360 U.S. 50 West, Hillsboro. Rev. Richard Burns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Woodside Cemetery in Middletown. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. at the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church.
