Shirley J. McMurry, 72, of Greenfield, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 25, 1937 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Evelyn (Hicks) Bragg.
She was a longtime employee of Quick Stoppe of Greenfield and a former employee of the Snack Bar. She was a 1956 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School and a member of the F.O.E #1325 Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Jeannette) McMurry of Greenfield and John Phillip (Bonnie) McMurry of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Kristie (Farrell) Adams of Greenfield, Jennifer (Brian) McMurry-Nelson of Greenfield, Shawn (Mary Ellen) McMurry of Greenfield, Chad (Sasha) McMurry of Greenfield, and Scott (Amanda) McMurry of Greenfield; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces; and one nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McMurry, who passed away on Oct. 29, 2007; three brothers, Eugene Bragg, David Bragg, and Harry Bragg, Jr.; and her adoptive mother, Florence Bobo.
A visitation is scheduled for 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, with Eagles services to be held at 7 p.m Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Robert K. Blaine officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
