Sarah Jane Woodruff, 81, of Hillsboro died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center in Seaman, Ohio.
She was born May 12, 1928 in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah Moore Ferris.
She had worked as a clerk for Hallmark.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith (John) Grossman of Hillsboro; one son, Bobby Woodruff of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Christina (Jack) Robinson of Mt. Orab, Malein Grossman of Wilmington, Sarah Grossman of Leesburg, and Jonda (Lawrence Jr. Bradford of Ft. Drum, New York; nine great-grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Brittney, Natasha, Lawrence, John, Kaitlyne, Sierra and Noah, one great-great-grandchild, Sky; two sisters, Minnie Arthur and Elma Swords, both of Wilmington; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Ferris of Hillsboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. "Woody" Woodruff on Sept. 8, 1989; four sisters, Mary Ferris, Louise Nettleton, Lucille Barlow, and Ginny Chandler; and one brother, George Ferris.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Randell Goble will officiate. Burial will follow in the Clinton Memory Gardens in Wilmington. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
