Rosa Ellen Smith, 77, of Greenfield, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Greenfield Medical Center in Greenfield, Ohio.
She was born Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1932 in Frankfort, Ky., the daughter of the late Oliver Walton and Iva (Dalton) Young. She married William Henry Smith, who died on March 5, 1983.
She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy D. Miller of Greenfield; a grandson, Clifford William (Amanda) Childs of Greenfield; a granddaughter, Stephanie Ellen Beamer of Greenfield; a grandson, Oliver Walton Childs of Greenfield; a granddaughter, Opal Fay (Homer) Clifton of Hillsboro; a grandson, Danny Wayne (April) Miller, Jr. of Campton, Ky.; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Mae (Walter) Hixson of Hillsboro of Hillsboro and Dorothy (Jerry) Silman of Sardinia; a brother, Kenny (Brenda) Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William Henry Smith, Jr.; one sister; and seven brothers.
Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main St., Hillsboro, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral home with Rev. Bobby Howland officiating.
Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at Felicity Cemetery, Felicity, Ohio.
