Ronald Jay Hogle, 76, of Greenfield, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born July 28, 1934 in Marengo, Ohio, the son of Ralph and Ruth (Garling) Hogle.
He was a carpenter by trade and had his own company for many years, Ron Hogle and Sons. He attended Linden McKinley High School in Columbus. He was a member of the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Leonard) Hogle, whom he married Aug. 19, 1955; a son, Ed (Mary) Hogle of Greenfield; two daughters, Dianne (Dan) Williams of Hillsboro and Kathy Fent of Greenfield; a daughter-in-law, Margie Hogle of Greenfield; four brothers, Ralph (Edna) Hogle of Dublin, Don (Susie) Hogle of Texas, Bill (Carol) Hogle of Arizona, and Paul (Jane) Hogle of Columbus; a sister, Barbara (Rene) Valley of Danville; two brothers-in-law, John Leonard of Columbus and Ken (Mary Jo) Leonard of Columbus; four sisters-in-law, Joann (Jim) Fishpaw of Columbus, Delores Plant of Groveport, Ruth (Jack) Kinner of Pickerington, and Chris (Ron) Anderson of Carroll; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Hogle; brothers, Orville, Cecil, and Bob; brother-in-law, Dick Plant; and both parents.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Wylie Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery with Military Rites to be performed by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1 with Veterans Appreciation Service held at 8 p.m.
