Romayne (Schrader) Hays, 73, of Hillsboro, Ohio, formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 10, 2009 at the Autumn Years Nursing Home in Sabina, Ohio.
She was born Thursday, August 13, 1936 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of the late William H. 'Raymond' & Alma E. (Lawson) Schrader.
A 1955 Lynchburg High School graduate, she attended Fall Creek Friends Meeting and was an avid quilter and a lover of cats.
Surviving are four sons, Doug (Connie) McPherson of Wilmington, Mark (Shirlean) McPherson of Marion, Ohio, Clay (Beverly) McPherson of Leesburg, & Brian (Marcia) McPherson of Sabina; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her brother, Mike Elam of New Vienna; and one niece.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Elmer Hays, and stepfather, Stanley Cash Elam.
Friends will be received 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro, Ohio.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at Gilboa Cemetery, Paint Township, Highland County, Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. H. Scott Latimer officiating.
