Rocky Paul Gunter, 54, of South Salem, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 27, 1955 in Dayton, the son of the late Paul and Jacqueline (Wilcox) Gunter.
Rocky was a retired construction worker and was a member of the Virtue of Jesus Christ Church in Latham.
On March 8, 1976, he married the former Mary Jane Huntsman, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, April (Nathan Snodgrass) Gunter, Melissa Gunter, and Shannon (Sean Huston) Gunter, all of South Salem, and Carrie (James) Parks of West Union; six grandchildren, Samantha and Megan Snodgrass, Aubrey Jeffers, Hailynn Huston, Brandon Snodgrass, and Rocky Jeffers; two sisters, Glenna (Ray) Burns of Sabina and Tina (David) Flint of Waverly; five brothers, Rick (Beth) Gunter, Oakley (Tamara) Gunter, and Barry Gunter, all of Greenfield, and Hughie (Barb) Gunter, of Mowrystown, and Todd (Shawna) Huntsman of Waverly; and his mother-in-law, Rose Huntsman of South Salem.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Snodgrass; a brother, Carl Huntsman; and a sister, Robin McMullen.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home of Greenfield, with Pastors Wayne Parks, Leroy Parks, and Orville Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of service Wednesday.
