Robert H. “Bud” Baldwin, 86, of Leesburg, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 21, 2011 at Hearth and Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield.
He was born July 8, 1924, in Leesburg, a son of the late Fred and Lena (Morrow) Baldwin.
He was a lifelong farmer and had served on the Hardin’s Creek Cemetery Board of Trustees for many years. He was also a former member of the Buckeye Horse Puller’s Association.
On Dec. 22, 1951, in Leesburg, he married his wife of 59 years, Isabel (Tompkins) Baldwin, and she survives.
He is also survived by a special daughter, Debi Back and her husband Brian of Leesburg; a special grandson, Dale Back of Leesburg; a nephew, William “Bill” Baldwin, Sr., and his wife Frances of Leesburg; a great-niece, Connie (Rick) Williams of Hillsboro; a great-nephew, William Baldwin Jr. and his wife Belinda of Leesburg; and several great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a special cousin, Ernest Hattan and family of Leesburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Baldwin, and a sister, Helen Baldwin Head.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Rev. Bob Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hardin’s Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the funeral home.
