Robert George "Bob" Knedler, Sr., 71, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 in Greenfield, Ohio.
He was born Friday, Nov. 12, 1937 in Clarksville, Ohio, the son of the late David and Mary (Sewell) Knedler.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a graduate of Martinsville High School, class of 1955.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Knedler, Jr., of Cincinnati and Allen (Anita) Knedler of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Tonya Gunning, of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Amanda Davis of Columbus, Cody Gunning of Greenfield, Cory Gunning of Greenfield, Kaitlyn Barker of Washington, Chevy Knedler of California, and Dillon Knedler of California; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Jordan, and Trenton Davis, all of Columbus, and a great-grandson on the way, Rilyn Nicholas Robert; a sister, Betty Hurd, of Cincinnati; and his former wife, Sarah Fox, of Leesburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Gunning.
Friends will be received 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, Ohio.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Noah Campbell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, where the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors.
Contributions may be made to the Community Care Hospice in his memory.
