Robert Dean "Bob" Hopkins, 73, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 at Highland District Hospital.
Bob was born Nov. 18, 1937 in Belfast to Clarence and Ruth (Rhoads) Hopkins. He was a member of Prospect Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Robert Steven Hopkins, and a brother, Jim Hopkins.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary "Marie" Hopkins of Hillsboro, whom he married on Jan. 17, 1969; a son, Michael Dean Hopkins of Hillsboro; an adopted son, William Christopher Hopkins of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Debbie (John) Swavely of Grove City; brothers, William Hopkins of Hillsboro and Donnie Hopkins of Ellenville; a sister, Jeanie Elliott (Ed) of Hillsboro; and grandsons, Jacob, Joseph and Justin Swavely.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Woleab officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, Feb. 18 from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
