Richard Marion Carson, 92, of Leesburg, Ohio passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at his residence.
   He was born March 17, 1918 in Highland County, the son of Elba and Chloe (Fishback) Carson. 
   Mr. Carson was a graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. He was a life-long farmer, DEKALB seed salesman, and a former board member of the Soil and Water Conservation District. He was a member of the New Martinsburg United Methodist Church, the Four Shade Grange and the Farm Bureau.
   He is survived by one son, Max (Eileen) Carson of South Salem; one daughter, Nancy Lynn (William) Melson of Leesburg; four grandchildren, Melissa Swift of Washington C.H., Bruce Allen Carson of Greenfield, and James B. Melson and Lori L. Melson of Leesburg; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   In addition to his parents, Mr. Carson was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Gilliand) Carson on March 30, 1972; his second wife, Betty (Smith) Carson on June 10, 2007; and one brother, Edward Lee Carson.
   Funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield with Pastor Gregory Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery, Washington C.H.
   Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Fayette County, Inc., P.O. Box 849, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160.
