Raymond H. Green, 93, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 21, 2011 at the Crestwood Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
He was born April 27, 1917 in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of the late John E. & Lola (True) Green. He married Neva Green, who preceded him in death in December 1968.
Raymond retired from Robert Shaw as a machinist, had worked as an auto mechanic for Matson Chevrolet, and was also a farmer. He was a member of New Market Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Marcia (Bob) Morris of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Nancy Green of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Steve (Yolanda) Green, Tim (Nancy) Green, Tom (Ann) Green, Teresa (Allen) Shoemaker, and Cindy (Sean) Shanahan; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Raymond Swartz of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Carol Green of Indiana; and numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Green; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro with Pastor Harold Arthur officiating. Interment will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery, New Market, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home.
