Philip W. Thompson, 90, of Hillsboro, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Pleasant Hill Manor Nursing Home in Piketon.
He was born in Winchester on March 11, 1920, the son of the late Clarence and Florence (Troutman) Thompson. 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita I. (Reed) Thompson, on January 26, 2000; and three sisters, Marie Howland, Helen McLaughlin and Jerry Gregory. 
He was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, Highland County Coon Hunters Association, a World War II veteran, serving in in the U.S. Air Force, and an avid fisherman and hunter. He had retired from Clinton Asphalt Paving. 
He is survived by one sister, Ruth Brown of Piketon; one brother-in-law, Elzie Howland of Dayton; one sister-in-law, Gladys Flanagan of Corinth, Miss.; and one niece, Marcella Grooms of Hillsboro. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home with John Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
