Pauline "Polly" Esther Burnett, 97, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024.

Polly was born Feb. 16, 1927 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Homer and Pearl (Young) Tolle. 

She was a member of the Highland Methodist Church, a hostess for nine years at the Wooden Spoon Restaurant and retired from the Highland County ASCS after 33 years. Polly had a love for antiques where she bought and sold for several years. Polly was loved by all who knew her. Throughout her life, Polly created many deep and meaningful long-term relationships with her family and many friends.

Polly is survived by her nephew, Richard (Sharon) Tolle; a stepdaughter, Diane Cooper; two great-nieces, Stephanie Corbitt and Shannon Diehl; as well as many other family members and a host of friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Burnett; two brothers, Robert and Donald Tolle; and a nephew, Robert Tolle.

Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Derek Russell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
