Opal L. Milburn, 97, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.
Opal was born July 4, 1912 in Adams County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Sam and Martha (Smart) Wylie.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Randolph Cooper, on Feb. 20, 1966; her second husband, Kenneth Milburn, on Dec. 12, 1989; son-in-law Ted Paul; daughter Sarah Ann Cooper; three brothers, Ernest, John and Edgar Wylie; and five sisters, Zella West, Esther Lyon, Virgie Dodds, Alta Blair, Mae Blair.
Opal was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and the Highland County Senior Citizens. Opal and Randolph owned and operated the Harper Hotel in Greenfield for 24 years. Later, Opal worked at the Hallmark Store in Hillsboro for several years.
She is survived by one daughter, Esther Louise Paul of Hilliard, Ohio; one son, Roger Dean Cooper of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Lorrie Ann Corrao, Chris Paul, Doug Cooper, Jeff Cooper, David Cooper, Matt Cooper, and Beth Chaille; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
John Porter will officiate with burial following in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
