Nolan Brunner, 19, of Chillicothe, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, unexpectedly after a courageous battle with brain cancer at Children's Hospital in Columbus.

He was born July 31, 1991 in Washington C.H., the son of Brian Brunner and Bobbi (Simpson) VanHooser.

He was a 2010 graduate of Unioto High School and a Union Township volunteer firefighter. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Chillicothe.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bobbi and Greg VanHooser of Chillicothe; father and stepmother, Brian and Cary Brunner of Chillicothe; two brothers, Caleb Souders and Christian Brunner, both of Chillicothe; two sisters, Haylee Brunner and Ashlee Gossett, both of Chillicothe; three stepsisters, Hillairy Boltenhouse of Circleville and Holly VanHooser and April VanHooser, both of Chillicothe; grandfather, James Brunner of Hillsboro; grandmother, Linda Schrader of Greenfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nolan and Wanda Simpson.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Bruce Vair officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. A visitation will be held 12-2 p.m. Thursday.
