Michael A. Stone, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at home.
 
He was born April 14, 1952 in Greenfield, the son of Eugene and Millie (Mershon) Stone.
 
He was a 1970 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter, drywall finisher and was later employed at Madison Township.
 
He is survived by his wife, Marianna (Smith) Stone, whom he married Nov. 30, 1985; three sons and two daughters, Jeff (Brittany) Stone, Scott Bentley (Sunday Landrum), Jason (Cheryl) Stone, Michelle (Mark) Easter and Amber (Dale) Bowers; 14 grandchildren, Cody, Caitlyn, Lauren, Kelsey, Jadelyn, Austin, Tyler, Jacob, Kaleigh, Iva, Sarah, Gracie, Gage and Zeke; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Kevin (Donna) Stone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Rogers; one brother, Charles Russell “Rusty” Cowman; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 5 at 2 p.m. the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield beginning with a veterans appreciation service followed by Pastor Jeff Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilboa Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
