Mary Louise Duncan, 91, of Hillsboro, died Monday afternoon, September 21, 2009 at the Heartland of Hillsboro. 

She was born November 1, 1917 in Allensburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Otis and Rose Hannah Judy Duncan. 
She retired in 1982 from Dubois Chemical Company as manager of the accounting department after 33 years of service and also worked for the Wayne Furniture Store in Dayton and as a part-time writer of garden books. She was a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ, the Highland County Senior Citizens, was a 1936 graduate of Lynchburg High School and had attended the Miller School of Business in Cincinnati. 
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Ethel Duncan and June Duncan of Allensburg; one aunt, Eloise Judy of Millersburg, Kentucky; eleven nieces and nephews, Hanson Duncan of Winchester, Ron (Connie) Duncan of New Vienna, Linda (Ron) Chrisman of Lynchburg, Gordon (Donna) Duncan of Sardinia, George Duncan of Georgetown, Sheryl (Jeff) Simpson of Mt. Orab, Jim (Cindy) Duncan of Batavia, Jeff (Sandy) Duncan of Amelia, Lori (Mike) Gall of Lynchburg, Margie (Bill) Taylor of Lynchburg, and John (Diane) Duncan of Hillsboro; and a host of grandnieces, nephews and cousins. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Howard Mitchell, Charles Virgil, Delbert Dale, John William, and Hanson Everette Duncan; and two nieces, Shirley Duncan and Kathy Massari. 
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 24th at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg with Bob Stevens officiating. Burial followed in the Barnes Cemetery. Friends called on Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
