Mary Ethel Huffman, 94, of Peebles (Elmville Community), died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home.
She was born in Highland County on May 26, 1916, the daughter of the late Starley Burnett and Addie Jane (Roads) Reno.
She was a member of the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union and Mary was a wonderful mom, grandma and mother in law.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Huffman on Jan. 26, 1991; one daughter, Barbara Ann Huffman; two sisters, Winnie Brown and Ruth Stewart; and two brothers, George Reno and Irvin Reno.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Tempy) Huffman of North Union, James Huffman of Florence, Miss., and John (Suzanne) Huffman of Peebles; sisters, Chloe Burnett of Bainbridge and Dorothy Watson of Washington Court House; grandchildren Amy (Brian) Swango, Jonathan (Monica) Huffman, Rachel (David) Sims, Allen Huffman, Pam (Tony) Newkirk, Jerry (Joy) Huffman, Gayle (Mike) Jennings, and Angie (Sam) Tripp; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Marlyn Davis officiating and burial to follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.
