Martha V. Chambers

Martha V. Chambers, 83, of Seaman, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at the home of her daughter. 

Martha was born Nov. 1, 1926 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Floyd E. and Alta (Roberds) White. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Chambers, on Nov. 12, 2009.

Martha was a member of the Northside Church of Christ, a graduate of Belfast High School, served as a 4-H advisor and was a farmwife. 

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Robert Jones of Hillsboro and Edith and Gary Heaton of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Teresa (Layne) Garringer of Jamestown, Colleen (John) Barney of Hillsboro, Shannon Heaton of Hillsboro, Andrew (Kim) Heaton of Hilliard, and Timothy (Amanda) Heaton of Lexington, Ky.; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Ramsey of Chesterfield, Mo.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. 

Friends may call Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
