Marquis Ivan Brooks, age 59, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at his residence.  
He was born December 23, 1950 in Dayton, the son of Everett and Delma Howard Brooks.  
He was a veteran and retired from the United States Army.  
He is survived by his mother Delma Brooks of Hillsboro; daughter Marty Brooks; son Marquis Shane Brooks; six sisters, Bonnie Kerr, Yvonne Adams, Carol Hayes, Sheila Brooks, Tammy Brooks and Kathy Adams; and brother Tom Brooks.  
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Brooks, and brother, David Turner Brooks. 
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11 in the Hillsboro Cemetery. The Highland County Honor Guard will accord military honors. 
The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family.
