Marion E. Baker, 86, of South Salem, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at his residence.
He was born May 1, 1923 in Ross County, Ohio, the son of the late Frank and Rilla (Fannon) Baker.
Mr. Baker was a lifelong farmer. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Kettell) Baker, whom he married March 9, 1954; three sons, Eldon (Deb) Baker of Chillicothe, Frank (Tracey) Baker of Greenfield, and Jerry Baker of South Salem; five daughters, Doris (Densil) Attwood of Chillicothe, Beverly (Scott) Cotrill of Londonderry, Deana (Tim) Johnson of South Salem, Lisa (Bob) Murray of Greenfield, and Kathy (Jose) Pena of Greenfield; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, George Baker and Clayton Baker; two sisters; and three brothers.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Greg Trent officiating. Burial will follow at the South Salem Cemetery, with military rites to be performed by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A visitation is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, with Veterans Appreciation Services to be held at 7:30 p.m.
