Mackenzie Elizabeth Corbin

Mackenzie Elizabeth Corbin, 19, of South Salem, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
She was born June 24, 2005 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Larry Jay and Lisa DeeAnn Corbin.
Mackenzie was a 2023 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and was attending Wilmington College in pursuit of an agricultural business degree. Mackenzie was active in many high school activities, including swimming, golf, Tigerettes, show choir, student council, Drug Free America Foundation, and her favorite, FFA, where she developed her love of agriculture, held officer positions and won many awards along the way. In October, Mackenzie was to receive her FFA American Farmer Degree at the National FFA Convention. She was a National Honor Society member and performed in a number of school plays.
Mackenzie spent her summer as an intern at Select Sires in an effort to expand her agricultural awareness. She was excited at the prospect of starting her sophomore year of college and being with her special friends, Morgan Evans, Skyler Ramsey and Kendall Miller, and many more all of who she loved so much. Mackenzie was an active member of Sigma Alpha Agricultural Sorority.
Mackenzie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had a special friend there, Kenzie Anderson. Mackenzie had a special group of lifelong friends that include Rachelle Priest, Jayden McCoy and Ava Calhoun. Madisyn Potts, her niece, has always been her best friend since birth. The love of her life was Jacob Taylor, whom she had dated for four years and 11 months, with expectations of a future together.
Mackenzie was a momma’s girl and often thought to be a mini-Lisa. She considered her dad to be her best friend. She was the baby of six girls and completed the family. Friends and family alike would say to know Mackenzie was to love her. Mackenzie was smart, funny and kind, and she loved with her whole heart. She had a smile that could light up a whole room and had a genuine soul. Her family is proud and honored that God allowed them to call her theirs. In her death, Mackenzie was able to give the gift of life to others through Life Line of Ohio’s organ, bone and soft tissue donation program.
