Lewis William Thomas, 83, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Leesburg, Ohio, passed away Oct. 18, 2009, after suffering a strooke on Sept. 17, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Hakes Thomas of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sons, Terry (Mary) Moore of Hernando, Fla., Gary (Darlene) Moore of Pricetown, Ohio, and Larry Moore of Carmel, Ohio; and one daughter, Shirley (Ron) Streff, of Savannah, Tenn. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and 26 step-great-grandchildren.
He was employed by Better Business Forms of Largo, Fla., and was an active member of the American Legion Post 104 in Pinellas Park, Fla. He was the former owner and operator of Lou's Gas Station in Leesburg, Ohio.
A memorial service was held at the American Legion Post 104 in Pinellas Park, Fla., on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009.
