Letha Pearl Waulk, 72, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.

She was born in Marshall Township on July 14, 1938, the daughter of the late Homer C. and Mabel (Rhoads) Purdin.

She was a member of the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Johnny Miller of Hillsboro, Orville (Melissa) Miller of Tiffin, and Kenneth Waulk, Jr. of Hillsboro; two daughters, Beverly (Ed) Muncy of Lynchburg and Pam (Kelly Knisley) Miller of Hillsboro; two stepchildren, Rita Davis of South Point and James Waulk of Oklahoma; three sisters, Ermaline Wilkin of Hillsboro, Shirley Cress of Hillsboro, and Wanda Terebessey of Raymondville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Earl Miller, on April 2, 1976; her second husband, Kenneth F. Waulk, Sr.; three sisters; and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church with Wiley Perkins officiating.

Friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

The Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
