Leonard M. Evans, 79 years of Peebles, died Tuesday January 5, 2010 at his residence.

He was born February 23, 1930 in Scioto County, OH., the son of the late Charles and Flossie (Brooks) Evans. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Johnnie Wade Evans, three brothers and one sister.

Leonard retired from General Motors and had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by the mother of his children Jeri Tolle of Oregonia, OH., two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Rhonda Evans of Xenia, OH., Perry and Marie Evans of Beaver Creek, OH.; daughter and son-in-law, Kristy-Evans and Victor Arenburg of Oregonia, OH.; five grandchildren, Joel Evans, Mark Evans, Mahaley Evans, Reed Arenburg and Madison Evans; two brothers, Jim Evans of Xenia, OH., and Ray Evans of Wilmington, OH.; two sisters, Rene Fite of Cinicnnati, OH. and Faye Flynn of Cincinnati.; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, OH.

Burial will follow with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard in the Vaughn’s Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
