Kathryn Mattovich Graves, 92, of Hillsboro, died Sunday morning, April 25, 2010 at the Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born May 9, 1917 in Ronald, Wash., the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Bacon Mattovich.
Mrs. Graves was a graduate of Superior High School in Superior, Mont. In 1937, she was united in marriage to George W. Graves, who preceded her in death on April 15, 2003. She and her husband had lived in Frankfort, Ind. for 40 years before moving to LaPlata, Md., where they resided for 23 years, then moving to Hillsboro.
She was an active member of the Woodside Christian Church in Frankfort, Ind. and the Waldorf Church of Christ in Waldorf, Md.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John and Jane (Erskine) Graves of Hillsboro and George William Graves Jr. of LaPlata, Md.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David L. Graves; three brothers; and one sister.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Chuck Shonkwiler will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
