Karen Sue Ferrell, 69, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 in Rodchester, Minn.
She was born in Wilmington on Feb. 25, 1941, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Laurel (Timmons) Johnson.
She was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church and had been the custodian with her husband Jim for 31 years, retiring this past year. She was a member of the Rocky Fork Decorative Artist Club, Highland County Quilt Club, and Highland County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years and four months, Jim Ferrell of Hillsboro; four sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Tammy Ferrell of Leesburg, Mark Ferrell of Hillsboro, Jim and Karen Ferrell Jr., of Blacklick, and Brian Ferrell of Hillsboro; two brothers, Paul M. Johnson of Hillsboro and Frank Johnson of Columbus; one sister, Anita Graff of the Villages, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Derek Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church.
