June Ellenburg, 77, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at her home, granting her wishes.
She was born June 20, 1933, in Vardenmen, Miss., a daughter of the late Chester and Opal (Brand) Dye.
Along with her husband Jack, she had owned and operated Jack and June’s Sunoco in Hillsboro for many years.
She is survived by three children, Donna Remsing and her husband Fred of Hillsboro, Michael Ellenburg of Hillsboro, and Jackie Remsing and her husband Richard of Middletown; one sister, Vannie Rhea Bailey of Middletown and a brother, Chester Rae Dye of Calhoun City, Miss. June was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jack A. Ellenburg, on Aug. 27, 1987; and two brothers, William Rex Dye and Bobby Eugene Dye.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends may call on Friday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Beagle Club through any area U.S. Bank branch or Ronald McDonald House Charities, 555 Valley Street, Dayton, Ohio 45404.
