Joyce A. Ward, 82, of Largo, Fla., died Nov. 27, 2010.
She was born May 24, 1928 in Lobata, W.Va., the daughter of George W. and Mabel V. Dotson Phillips.
On Sept. 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to James H. Ward. She worked as a program assistant for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS), an agency for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Montey Dwight Ward; and brothers Chester J. Phillips and Arthur V. Phillips of Greenfield.
Joyce is survived by two sons, James H. and Kathleen Ward, Jr. of Largo, Fla. and Dr. John T. Ward of Batavia; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Juel Fling of Hillsboro; two brothers, Raymond and Martha Phillips of Hillsboro and Dale Phillips of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Wauleta "Tillie" Phillips of Columbus; and Joanne and Jack Wilkin of Hillsboro.
