Joseph L. Crowe, 84, of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of Greenfield and Norwood, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at West Chester Medical Center in West Chester.
He was born June 30, 1925 in Hamilton County, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Johnson) Crowe.
He retired in 1979 from the Norwood Police Department after 27 years of serving as a policeman. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna J. (Cogan) Crowe, who he married July 8, 1944 in Greenfield; three sons, Michael (Abbie) Crowe of Mt. Carmel, Tenn., Steven (Debbie) Crowe of West Chester, and Daniel C. Crowe of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Theresa (Rick) Kapp of Spring Hill, Fla. and Judy Crowe of Largo, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jamie Lee Jean Kapp.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 7 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery of Greenfield, where military rites will be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, with Veterans Appreciation services to begin at 1 p.m.
