Joseph D. Kingsolver, 77, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday morning April 20, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 20, 1933 in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of the late Charles D. and Lillie L. Abbott Kingsolver.
Mr. Kingsolver was a retired machinist with Pitco Products and 5-K Machine Shop. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Jane Darlene Bartlett Kingsolver; three sons, Michael Kingsolver of Hillsboro, Rick (Ashley Jane Dreher) Kingsolver of Hillsboro and Steve (Monya) Kingsolver of West Union; 10 grandchildren, Jade, Kyle, Kara, Zachary, Lucas, Matt, Austin, Kaitlyn, Zane and Elayna; one brother, Robert (Ester) Kingsolver of Missouri; and two sisters, Rosemary Combs of May Hill and Iva Jean Elswick of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Ollie Elswick and Delbert Combs.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Ed Heisler will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow in the Kingsolver Family Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
