Jane Louise Schroeder Conley, 75, of Hillsboro died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She was born July 9, 1935 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Louis and Bessie (Skidmore) Schroeder.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Denver L. Conley.
She was a member of Hillsboro Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star and the Knight's Templar Woman's Auxiliary. She was retired from the Hillsboro Public School system after 30 years of service. Following retirement, she became a volunteer of Highland District Hospital in the Gift Shop and Pre-admission testing. She also volunteered over 12 years at Samaritan Outreach Service.
In addition to her husband, other survivors include a son, Kevin (Tracy) Conley of Middletown; a daughter, Karen (Jeff) Darland of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Conley Darland, Christopher Conley, Claire Darland, Kyle Conley, Carson Conley and Kennedi Conley; three brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Schroeder, of Sugar Tree Ridge, J. Frederick (Georgia) Schroeder of Columbus and Robert (Sandra) Schroeder of Hillsboro; a sister, Clara B. Porter of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by Aunt Pearl Skidmore Rand.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at Hillsboro Church of Christ with Pastors John Porter and Marty Egelston officiating. Interment will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Hillsboro Church of Christ, 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, with Eastern Star Services at 8 p.m.
Contributions may be made to the Highland District Hospital Foundation Gift Shop fund, 1275 N. High St., Hillsboro, or to Order of Eastern Star Chapter 441, c/o Phyllis Walker, 6910 E. New Market Road, Hillsboro.
