James D. (Jimmy) Bowman, 71, of Mowrystown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 at the Mercy Hospital Anderson.
He was born Oct. 15, 1939 in Lawrence County, the son of the late Carl Sam Bowman and Jessie Hardesty Bowman.
Survivors include his wife, June Bowman of Mowrystown, whom he married July 20, 1960; four daughters, Kathy Bowman of Hillsboro, Teresa (Melvin) Wharff of Mowrystown, Jan (Bill) Duggins of Mowrystown, Hope (Shawn) Campbell of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sammy Bowman, Duane Bowman, and David Bowman; seven sisters, Hope Bowman, Jan Tillman, Betty Shaffer, Fern Wheeler, Sandra Flint, Brenda Barr, and Joy Short.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by three brothers, Burl, Sonny, and Tommy Bowman.
Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Bowery officiating. Interment will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery, Mowrystown.
Friends will be received at Edgington Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 6-8 pm.
