James D. Dixon, 71, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on Dec. 7, 1938, the son of the late Donald and Irene (Johnson) Dixon.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Dixon, and one brother David Dixon.

He owned and operated the North Bay Cottages and Bait Store for the past 20 years. He loved his dogs Max and Brutus, was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife Helen Sue (Nutt) Dixon, whom he married on Sept. 27, 1980; one son, Jonathan Scott (Kandi Blanton) Dixon of Hillsboro; one grandson, Trenton Scott Dixon; one brother, Donald Dixon of Pataskala, Ohio; one sister, Carmen Lytle of Pataskala, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

According to his wishes, he was cremated.

The Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements
