    Jack Allen Whiting, 62, of Hillsboro died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at his home.
    He was born Nov. 13, 1948 in Hillsboro, the son of Homer Vincent and Martha Jane Wilson Whiting.
    Mr. Whiting had worked for the Coca-Cola Company for nine years and had worked as a machinist for the Hobart Corporation for 24 years. He was a 1966 graduate of Hillsboro High School.
    He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Granger Whiting, whom he married on Aug. 8, 1970; three children, Kelly K.
Whiting of Cleveland Heights, Mary Catherine (Clay) Bullock of Hillsboro and David (Jenny) Whiting of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Emillie V. and Tyler G. Urban, Dakota, Devon, Samantha, and Colin Bullock and Jackson and Cooper Whiting; and his mother, Martha Jane Wilson Berry of Hillsboro.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Homer V. Whiting.
    Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro with James Grandey presiding. Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
