Howard David Young, 83, of Greenfield, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Edgewood Manor in Greenfield.
He was born Oct. 15, 1926 in Scioto County, Ohio, the son of the late Hugh Young, Sr. and Anna Myrtle (Harsh) Young.
He was a farmer and construction worker. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by two sisters, Alma L. Hamilton of Greenfield and Shirley P. (Dean) Cluxton of Lynchburg; two brothers, Hugh (Priscilla) Young, Jr. of New Vienna and Roger Clarence (Darlene) Young of Blanchester; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Jean Young, of Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine Palmer, Virginia Vester, and Elizabeth Young; and one brother, Ronald Young.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Robert K. Blaine officiating. Burial will be held at the Rushtown Cemetery in Scioto County. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, with Veterans Appreciation services to be held at 8 p.m. and a visitation to be held 10-11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
