He was born June 14, 1943, in Cynthiana to the late Beryl and Opal (Penwell) Jenkins.

On Sept. 11, 1965, he was united in marriage to Sharon (Miller) Jenkins, who passed away Jan. 4, 1985.

Homer was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to four sons, Homer E. (Crystal) of Bainbridge, Buryl (Teresa) of Pataskala and George (Regina) and Norman Jenkins, both of Bainbridge; five grandchildren, Christopher (Lindsey), Preston, Matthew (Stephanie), Zachery (Hope) and Elizabeth (Garrett); and four great-grandchildren, Creek, Everleigh Rose, Addison Marie and Luke. Also surviving are two sisters, Susie Heppard of Peebles and Barbara Hougland of Greenfield; a brother, John Jenkins of Cynthiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Homer was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Montgomery; and two brothers, Bill and Sonny Jenkins.

Homer worked at Bell’s Foundry in Hillsboro and Palm Harbor Homes in Sabina for many years. He owned and operated the cores factory. Homer loved to do foundry work. He loved to watch his cows and calves play, and he loved his dog Shorty. He also liked to hunt for mushrooms.

He was a great man; he took care of his boys and raised them the best he could. He was tough on them, but he loved them, and they love him still. He loved his grandkids and great ones too. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His family says, “Thank you, Dad, for everything. We love you, Dad and Grandpa.”
