Herbert E. Deatley, 76, of Greenfield, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born in Fayette County on Sept. 11, 1934, the son of the late Oather H. (Beck) and Emma I. Pauley Deatley Robbins. 
He owned and operated Herb Deatley Realty and Auction Company in Greenfield.
He graduated from Sabina High School in 1952. He was a member of the Walnut Hill CCCU Church of Leesburg, Gideon's International, Greenfield Rotary, Greenfield Antique Tractor Club, Highland County Chamber of Commerce, Highland Country Board of Realtors, OAR, NAR and the Ohio Auctioneers Association.
On July 3, 1962, he married Phyllis Seaman and she survives, along with his children, Connie MacLean (Ron) of New Bern, N.C., Cathi Walker of Lancaster, S.C., Randy (Carla) Deatley of Washington C.H., and Cyndi (Bill) Hargett of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Wlma ( Bobby) Quigley of Martinsville; and a brother, Roger (Thelma) Deatley of Albany.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stacey Deatley.
The funeral service will be held at the Walnut Hill Church on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m., at 10449 Barger Road, Leesburg. Burial will be in the New Antioch Cemetery of New Antioch. Visitation is at the church on Monday from 5-8 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service.
