Gregory Lee “Greg” Barr, 70, of Greenfield, Ohio gained his wings peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025 at 5:46 pm.
 
Greg was born Oct. 6, 1955 to the late Roy and Glenna (Jennings) Barr.  

He was born in Dayton, Ohio but raised and lived most of his life in Greenfield, Ohio.  
 
Greg was a 1974 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. He had a long list of achievements during his life on Earth including but not limited to roles as the Chief of the Greenfield Area Life Squad, Chief of Police in Greenfield, Sergeant at the Hillsboro Police Department, serving as the Secretary at the First Baptist Church of Greenfield, representing the Greenfield Exempted Village School District’s School Board and Great Oaks School Board, a former member of the Highland County Community Action, a former member of the American Red Cross, and a member of the Highland County Amateur Radio Association.
 
Greg is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Doug) Miller; five grandchildren AraBella, Kendryck, Declan, Luca and Jamison Miller; one sister, Amy (Ron) Lewis; one brother, David Barr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Greg was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Barr, on Aug. 20, 2024; one brother, Gary Barr; and both parents.
 
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the First Baptist Church of Greenfield with Pastor Chris Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the First Baptist Church of Greenfield.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 250 Lafayette St, Greenfield, Ohio 45123 or Ohio’s Hospice, 222 N Oakland Street, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160.
 
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
