Fred Gorman Dumford, 93, of Mt. Orab, Ohio (Buford Community), died Friday morning, April 16, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 14, 1917 in Brown County, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph Linley and Iva Holman Dumford.
Mr. Dumford was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Spaeth Dumford, who he married on Nov. 11, 1953; two daughters, Lisa Kay (James) Johnson of Buford and Linda Jean (Tom) Mitchell of Bainbridge; two sons, Fred Allan (Judy) Dumford of Buford and David Loring (Sandy) Dumford of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, Charity Downing, Jason Dumford, Nancy Oxley, James Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, David Dumford, Jarod Dumford, Heather Dumford; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Daniel Allen, Susan Dumford and John Mitchell, and one sister, Helen Dumford.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19th at the Buford Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults, P. O. Box 258, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home is serving the family.
