Everett Lee Moore, 83, of Highland, Ohio, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at his residence.
He was born February 21, 1926 at Pennington Gap, Virginia, the son of the late Jesse and Nettie (Percey) Moore.
Everett was a retired machine operator and served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He was an avid hunter with good friends Bob, Eddie and Bucky Beasley.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jeff Gilliland of Highland, Ohio, one son and daughter-in-law, Chesley M. and Saundra Masters of Huber Heights, Ohio; one brother, Howard Moore of Fairborn, Ohio; four grandchildren Jessica (Craig) Cordery of Hillsboro, Levi Parker of Highland, Shane (Tabitha) Masters of Huber Heights, and Tiffany (Brian) Rihm of Huber Heights; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anna Virginia Moore on July 1, 2009; one grandson, Dylan Masters; and three sisters, Pearl, Myrtle and Vera.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Mary Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
