Evelyn E. Sonner, 97, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 30, 2010 at Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born Sept. 3, 1913 in Jean, Ky., the daughter of the late William L. and Arizona (Webb) Ison.

She was a member of Sonner's Chapel in East Danville.

She is survived by a sister, Pauline Boval of Cotodecaza, Calif.; a brother, Glenn Ison of Townsend, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Laura Kelly of Lakeland, Fla.; a special niece, Virginia Roush of Dayton; and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Sonner; a son, Paul Sonner; two sisters, Clara McCune and Louise Wardlow, and two brothers, Willie Ison and Chilton Ison.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at Sonner's Chapel United Methodist Church, of which she was a member, 4328 Sorg Road, in East Danville with Rev. Derek Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Chapman Cemetery in Danville.

Friends will be received at Sonner's Chapel from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.

Contributions in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Sonner Chapel United Methodist Church, or the charity of one's choice.
