Ernest Wesley "Wes" Mitchell, 68, of Urbana, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at the Heartland of Urbana.
He was born on June 6, 1942 in Lancaster, the son of Wesley Richard and Rosa Ebagail (Hawk) Hunt.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Hunt and Raymond Mitchell, and one sister, Christa Carroll.
He was a welder with Tank Manufacturing and had served in the National Guards.
He is survived by four sons, Chris Mitchell of Columbus, Kevin Mitchell of Zanesville, Troy Mitchell of Caldwell, and Zachary Mitchell of Troy; five daughters, Candy Woodruff of Zanesville, Regina Woodruff of Lancaster, Amanda Mitchell of Springfield, Erin Mitchell of Urbana, and Andrea Mitchell of Troy; two brothers, Roger Hunt of Urbana and Hugh Hunt of Hillsboro; six sisters, Roberta Humphrey of Latham, Phyllis Hunt of Urbana, Sandy Nevil of Urbana, Linda Humphrey of Hillsboro, Cinda Mills of Urbana, and Tammy Montgomery of Peebles; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Westwood Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from noon till time of service at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
