Ermaleen Burns, 88, of the Sugartree Ridge Community died Tuesday, November 23 at the Salyer Adult Group Home.
She was born in Adams County on July 2, 1922 the daughter of the late Roy E. and Clara G. (Thiess) Storer. On Feb. 26, 1941 she married Homer F. Burns, who died on Sept. 7, 1993. She is also preceded in death by son-in-law Franklin Hawkins, great-granddaughter Alexa Renea Dailey, and three brothers Carlos, Calvin and Elmer Storer.
She was a member of the Hillsboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She worked for the United Department Store in Hillsboro for 25.
She is survived by one son Mark ( Malissia) Burns of Hillsboro, three daughters, Karen Hawkins of Hillsboro, Wanda Nave of Hillsboro, Connie ( Bill) Ryan of Tennessee, two sisters, Alberta Quickle of Hillsboro and Lillian Quickle, of St. Marys, OH., sister-in-law Ludy Storer of St. Marys, OH., six grandchildren Kevin Hawkins, Greg Hauke, Melissa Hauke, Michael Hauke, Jason Gall and Jennifer Gall and four great grandchildren Cody Burns, Jacob Hauke, Cole Cumberland, Reed Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at the Sugartree Ridge Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
