Dorothy F. Simmons, 94, formerly of the Highland County area, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Otterbein Retirement Living Communities in Cridersville, Ohio.  
She was born November 1, 1915, in Leesburg, a daughter of the late Russell A. and Eva (Bryant) Fouch.  
She was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the choir. She was also a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Women, of which she served in all offices as well as a board member. She served for 35 years on the Fairfield East Board of Elections and as a chairman of the Fairfield East and Leesburg American Cancer Society. She also served on the Highland County Selective Service Board for many years.  
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte L. Muzleski of Lima and Sharon S. Johnson of Hoschton, Ga.; two sons, Howard A. Simmons of Valparaiso, Fla. and Richard A. Simmons of Grove City; six granddaughters, five grandsons and 14 great-grandchildren.  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Howard A. Simmons, who passed away October 11, 1992; and two brothers, Daryl Fouch and Leo “Pete” Fouch.  
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 5 at the Leesburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Tom Knauff will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Oak Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. 
Memorials may be made to the Leesburg United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 333, Leesburg, Ohio 45135.
