Donald Satterfield, 81, of West Union, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center at the Adams County Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Satterfield was born Jan. 5, 1929, the son of the late Raymond and Irene (Thompson) Satterfield, in Adams County.

Mr. Satterfield was a member of the American Legion and Ohio Public Employee Retirement System.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn (McCormick) Satterfield of West Union; one daughter, Kathy L. McClanahan and husband Mike of West Union; one brother, Paul Satterfield and wife Helen of Greenfield; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Satterfield of West Union and Lois McCormick of Seaman; three grandchildren, David and Cheri McClanahan, Greg and Alicia McClanahan, and Susie and Jobey Lucas; five great-grandchildren, Braxlynn, Jenna, Grant, Bristynn, and Jillian; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union; with Owen Applegate and John Greenlee officiating. Burial will follow at the Kirker Cemetery with military graveside services by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
