Donald Alexander, 78, of Sardinia, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
He was born in Adams County on Nov. 28, 1932, the son of the late Isaac Floyd and Hattie Mae (Kinnett) Alexander.
Donald was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Alexander, Jr. and Rick Alexander, and three brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, and Johnny Alexander.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi (Christman) Alexander of Sardinia; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Kelley Alexander of Greenfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Lloyd DeHart of Mt. Orab and Debbie and Bobby Russell of Perry, Ga.; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Bob Short of Sardinia; one sister-in-law, Barb Alexander of Seaman; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at noon at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel, in Winchester with Pastor Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery with a military graveside service given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10 a.m. till noon at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester.
