Dean Hill, 82, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday Nov. 2, 2010 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born Oct. 26, 1928 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Leslie Raymond "Kip" Hill and Ruby Fawley Hill.
Mr. Hill had been the manager of the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Hillsboro for 25 years and later had owned and operated Care First Aid Supplies. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, had served the City of Hillsboro as Mayor from 1972 until 1980, was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Elks #361, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161 and a member of the American Legion Raymond R. Stout Post 129.
He is survived by his wife Mary Kay "Kay" Hill, whom he had married on March 8, 1958 in McArthur, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Ernestine Hill of St. Augustine, Fla., three grandchildren, Skyler M., Zeke M., and Kelbree M. Hill, all of St. Augustine, Fla.; and one sister, Bea Turner of Hillsboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Julianna Hill; and one brother, Richard C. "Banty" Hill.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Jim Bush and John Porter will officiate. Burial will follow, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
