Darrell L. Tissot, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 in Milford.
He was born July 12, 1943 in Mowrystown, the son of the late Earl L. Tissot and Helen L. Fender Tissot.
Darrell was a graduate of Whiteoak High School and Morehead State University.
He was a member of the Mowrystown Presbyterian Church and the Sardinia and Hillsboro Masonic Lodges, Hillsboro Elks Lodge, member and past president of the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, the TRIB Buying Group and APRO Trade Association. Darrell was a lifelong philanthropist and supporter of many charitable organizations in Highland County.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Tissot, whom he married Oct. 24, 1964; a daughter, Sherri (Nordany) Quinones; a son, Mike (Angela) Tissot; a brother, Dannie Tissot; and four grandchildren, David Quinones, Matthew Quinones, Jacob Tissot and Paige Tissot.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Tissot; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lou and Helen Yochum.
Services will be held at Mowrystown Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 with Darrell's brother-in-law, Glenn Hess, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Mowrystown Presbyterian Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Masonic services will be held just prior to the start of the funeral service.

I did not know this man until too late. When I learned about his work - his MISSION - with Rent To Own when I was helping to prepare breakfasts for Kamp Dovetail, I was overwhelmed with amazement. It sounds like we residents of Highland County were/are blessed to have had him involved in our community. Yes! I want to learn more!
